Continuous-discrete entanglement: an example with non-relativistic particles

چکیده
This article discusses entanglement between two subsystems, one with discrete degrees of freedom and the other with continuous degrees of freedom. The overlap integral between continuous variable wave functions emerges as an important parameter to characterize this kind entangle-ment. " Beam-like " entanglement and " shape-like " entanglement are contrasted. One example of this kind of entanglement is between between the spin degrees of freedom and the momentum degrees of freedom for a non-relativistic particle. This intraparticle entanglement is Galilean invariant .

Generalization of Relativistic Particle Dynamics on the Case of Non-riemannian Space-time Geometry
Conventional relativistic dynamics of a pointlike particle is generalized on the case of arbitrary non-Riemannian space-time geometry. Non-Riemannian geometry is an arbitrary physical geometry, i.e. a geometry, described completely by the world function of the space-time geometry. The physical geometry may be discrete, or continuous. It may be granular (partly continuous and partly discrete). A...
متن کاملEntanglement Criteria for Continuous-Variable States
Entanglement is an amazing feature of quantum mechanics which is a nontrivial non-local correlation between states. It is studied and exploited greatly in the field of quantum information. Traditionally, most quantum systems of interest in quantum information is described by discrete variable states, e.g. spin of particles. Thus, entanglement is studied to a considerable extent in such state. N...
متن کاملGround state entanglement entropy for discrete-time two coupled harmonic oscillators
The ground state entanglement of the system, both in discrete-time and continuous-time cases, is quantified through the linear entropy. The result shows that the entanglement increases as the interaction between the particles increases in both time scales. It is also found that the strength of the harmonic potential affects the formation rate of the entanglement of the system. The different fea...
متن کاملRelativistic entanglement of quantum states and nonlocality of Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen(EPR) paradox
Relativistic bipartite entangled quantum states is studied to show that Nature doesn’t favor nonlocality for massive particles in the ultra-relativistic limit. We found that to an observer (Bob) in a moving frame S′, the entangled Bell state shared by Alice and Bob appears as the superposition of the Bell bases in the frame S′ due to the requirement of the special relativity. It is shown that t...

The process of teleportation of a completely unknown single-photon relativistic state is considered. Analysis of the relativistic case reveals that the teleportation as it is understood in the non-relativistic quantum mechanics is impossible if no a priori information on the state to be tele-ported is available. It is only possible to speak of the amplitude of the propagation of the field (taki...
